The Ideas Ready To Be Discovered.

While walking in the streets of New York one of the most common things that you will see are people on the street either begging for money or preaching about something they believe and want to share with the world. One afternoon walking in the street I ran into a group of people who wanted people to be aware and believe that if they had sin they would not be happy and was handed a paper. Usually many people don’t notice the words on the paper for long because it happens everyday. In a city where there is always something happening, even I am guilty of being so distracted or in a rush that I forget about the paper at all. This time I decided to look and  the words that were written were really interesting. When reading what was inside the paper it is when I realized how much of an impact they believe sin has on all the suffering that is happening. The first thing on the inside of the paper states “ Did you know you are in Debt Because of your sin?” and on the bottom has a quote from the bible they felt related and proved that the statement was true. It was really eye opening that even today the bible will be interpreted differently and it really depends on the mindset and beliefs that you follow.  It also showed me that there are so many things and ideas in this world that I, or many do not even know of and it is always nice too see the beliefs and ideas of many people around the world. The last time I saw this type of situation where there is a possibility to see multiple interpretations of the bible that could work in favor of many arguments depending on the view, was while I was reading LISTEN, AMERICA! by Jerry Falwell.  He uses many verses of the bible for different points but one that stood out to me was when he says that we are sinning if we accept homosexuals to be together. He also states that “ In spite of the fact that the Bible clearly designates this sin as an act of a “reprobate mind””  in which God “gave them up”(Falwell 222) . He is not okay with the decision that the government will go along with the idea of legalizing homosexuality. I could understand where he is coming from  knowing his background and beliefs but in my own interpretation I do not agree that the Bible and God are against homosexuals . This makes a major inconsistency to the big belief that  God loves everyone and will accept all who repent or have lived in good and for good.  That is only my opinion as I know many of you will have your own opinions depending on your beliefs and life and its greatly accepted and respected .  Seeing this paper is something to share because it makes you realize how many new things you learn about people a religion in the simplest things such as a paper randomly handed to you. Its nice to remember the world is full of amazing things ready to be discovered.
